    Jan 27,  · Blossoming in from members of The Chosen, who were a rhythm and blues band, Skip Bifferty has that early quirky Syd Barrett Pink Floyd psychedelic vibe going on [though a bit less frenetic], laced with a good measure of Mr. Fantasy by Traffic [though pre-dating Traffic’s release by six months], along with Love and The Zombies, where their music laps like /5(13).

    Skip Bifferty's self-titled LP is one of the notable exceptions -- oh, they're cheerfully spaced out, and their music is heavily ornamented with bells, echo, and all manner of sound effects, but at its core, this was a ballsy, hard-playing band that recognized the need for a solid rock & roll base to this kind of music.9/

    On Love - Skip Bifferty. Peel obtained a copy of Skip Bifferty's debut single "On Love" and played it on his Perfumed Garden show on Radio London and on his early Top Gear appearances on Radio 1 in He continued to support the band until its break-up, having them in session three times and writing the sleevenotes for their only LP.

    Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this album. They may have been downgraded over the intervening years to a retrospectively-acclaimed, collector-type act, but at the time, Skip Bifferty were genuine contenders: significant radio support for their singles, heavyweight management and afforded Next Big Thing status by the weekly pop papers/5(14).

    This CD includes the original album plus all three singles and their respective B-Sides plus a couple of tracks that were unreleased at the time. Skip Bifferty were a stellar British underground band from the late sixties who were championed by the late, great underground DJ John Peel/5(10).
